Satellite event to ISC09, Hamburg, Germany

The Symposium Enabling Desktop Grids for e-Science and Industry will take place at the Congress Center Hamburg in Hamburg, Germany at the 24th International Supercomputing Conference (ISC'09), June 26, 14h00 - 18h00 in Room C.2.1.

This event is an ISC'09 satellite meeting. The Annual International Supercomputing Conference is Europe's leading Conference and Exhibition on High Performance Computing, Networking and Storage. The 4-day conference, held 23-26 June 2009 at the Congress Center Hamburg, will provide you with a unique platform to learn, network, do business and join this event, that is also  the Third EDGeS User and Industry Forum Meeting. It is organised with support from  EGEE, OGF Europe,  and  BEinGRID.

The goal of the Symposium - Enabling Desktop Grids for e-Science and Industry is to bring together  Grid  application users, developers and companies and discuss the possibilities of using this technology to get more computing power at reduced costs in universities and companies. Also linking different kind of Grids, Desktop Grids, Service Grids such as EGEE and supercomputer Grids such as DEISA will be discussed.

Who should attend?

The Symposium is of interest for managers in both industry and academia who are interested in setting up a computational Grid to reduce costs or expand the computational resources of their organisation. Further it is of interest to application developers and users who want to get a feeling of what Desktop Grids are and can do. A third group are Grid operators who are interested in linking their Grid to other Grids.
